The Leadership, Policy & the Profession Conference, formerly the Advocacy & Policy Conference, is FACCC’s signature annual meeting. It brings together faculty leaders to connect, collaborate, and shape the future of California’s community colleges.
The conference combines professional development with policy briefings, giving you practical tools for your work and direct access to the policymakers and decision-makers shaping higher education in Sacramento.
The 2027 conference will be held at the Sheraton Grand Sacramento, 1230 J Street, in downtown Sacramento.

Erwin Chemerinsky
Dean, Berkeley Law
Jesse H. Choper Distinguished Professor of Law
Dean Chemerinsky is widely recognized as one of the country’s leading experts on constitutional law, higher education, academic freedom, civil rights, and the role of the courts in shaping public policy, which makes him one of the most influential voices in legal education today.
Before joining Berkeley Law in 2017, he was the founding dean of the University of California, Irvine School of Law, and previously taught at Duke University, the USC Gould School of Law, and DePaul University College of Law.
He is the author of 22 books and more than 200 law review articles, including Campus Speech and Academic Freedom: A Guide for Difficult Times (2026), which takes on one of the most pressing issues facing colleges and universities today. National Jurist magazine has named him the most influential person in legal education.
